Redemption

Tell me a story about the time when we were young
Sing me a song, that would remind me of the days
That went by under the lazy sun, with a smoke
The time when my eyes, had a shine of youth
Made me think, made me believe a difference was brought from us

The daily work, the short days, I lose my months
And there is no sign of the one lost in those moments
The one that brought me to think I am the one
The role, the responsibilities, the task and prioritisation
I am now a list of to-do's, cross checking myself
And what already done.

Once the wind used to tell me tales, the ones I like to hear
About maybe a lovers start or maybe the a mountain peak
Once in a while, I think I am on my way so I don't see
But mostly, I lay unconvinced, cause deep within
The rebellious boy stands in awe that today there is
No attention given to him

In the sound of the wind, I hear myself sometimes
The faint sound of laughter, kisses my ear and I turn back
To see a time, gone by and I am lost in wonder
I blink, I rub my eyes and its vaguely disappears
And smile slips on to me as I walk to the new direction found.
